Bart Millar

Bart’s Professional Bio: Building and making things are part of Bart’s DNA. His great-grandfather worked on building a large hotel in Southend-on-Sea, England at the turn of the last century. His grandfather installed electrical plants for telephones in Eastern Canada, and built his own home in their small town of Quebec province. Everyone in the family has a gift for making and fixing things. In high school, Bart helped his mother build a greenhouse for her wholesale nursery business.

He began using his talent professionally right after graduating college, when he worked as a superintendent for a contractor in the Los Angeles area of Brentwood, building high-end homes. A few years later he enrolled in the master’s degree program at the highly regarded Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). After graduation,  he worked as a designer, and then got his contractor’s license and began his own company, first based in L.A., and now located in Santa Barbara.

Millar and Associates has done over a hundred tenant improvement projects for well-known companies, Skechers and 3-Day Blinds among them. Bart has consistently displayed his ability to work as a member of a large team, achieving the goals of the directors of construction, while also working with a variety of company officers, landlords, and other stakeholders.

In the residential sector, Bart has impressed clients with his professionalism, gift for problem-solving, and quick responsiveness to their needs. Currently, Millar and Associates is offering exceptional service to both commercial and residential clients.

In addition, to his professional activities, Bart is an active hiker and community volunteer. He’s a member of the Mesa Business Association, and, prior to that was the treasurer for Adelante Charter School.
